The students should become familiar with the most important chants and melodies for the Shabbat service and be able to perform them confidently through practical exercises and repetitions.

Te’amim: Torah– and Haftara-Cantillations

Learning objectives:

Through practical exercises and repetitions of the Te’amim sequences, students should learn how to use the accent system in the Torah and Haftara melodies and master it confidently. They will also learn the theoretical foundations of the Te’amim and their function in biblical Hebrew grammar and syntax.

Introduction to the theory of the Te’amim (1 unit)

Practical application of the Te’amim: Torah (7 units)

  • Learning the Te’amim sequences in the Torah melodies
